Emma
When Emma's wish form came in, one sentence stopped us in our tracks. My biggest wish in the world is to play with a symphony because I love music. Emma is in the middle of an incredibly difficult stretch of treatment, and she lost her sight during her cancer journey. Music stayed. It is still the thing that brings her peace, comfort and joy, so we went looking for a way to put her inside it.
To play with a symphony, because she loves music.
Meet Emma
We reached out, and the Harris Center, Anson, the Folsom Symphony and their volunteers answered the call. They did not just say yes. They opened their hearts and built something for Emma and her family that none of us will forget.
Emma and her parents were welcomed onto the stage. She could touch the instruments, feel the vibrations move through the floor, hear the musicians around her, and experience a symphony in a way that was completely her own.
Then came the moment. Emma played her violin with the symphony to Superman, her favorite song.
Watching her tune into the music, feel the instruments around her and find that spark of energy was beautiful. For a little while, cancer was not the focus. It was just Emma, her music, her family, and a room full of people who wanted to give her one very special moment.
This is exactly why we do what we do. Wishes are not about checking something off a list. They are about making memories, giving families a moment of peace, and handing a child something beautiful to hold onto through an incredibly difficult journey.
To Anson, the symphony, every volunteer, the Harris Center and everyone who helped, thank you. You gave this sweet girl the thing she wished for with her whole heart.
And to Emma, thank you for the reminder that even in the hardest moments there is still room for music, joy and a little bit of magic.

My biggest wish in the world is to play with a symphony because I love music.
I knew right then that we had to make this happen.
Emma is going through an incredibly difficult time with treatment. She lost her sight during her cancer journey. Music stayed. It is still one of the things that brings her peace, comfort and joy.
So we reached out, and the incredible Harris Center, Anson, the symphony and their beautiful volunteers stepped up and answered the call. They did not just say yes. They opened their hearts and created something truly magical for Emma and her family.
